Fighting Media Imperialism Under Tonnie Iredia As DG NTA – Mallam Abdulkarim Muhammad Abdullahi

“It is so philosophically sad and shameless to watch some TV apologists and pro-colonial creeps, undermining Nigeria’s national unity and core values, as a result of OBJ-Atikoolated Dollar grabbing plutocratic offshore monetized agenda, aka Commercialization and Privitazation, which had elevated underperforming nonentities to Global Economic Salesmen in the underperforming global market of anti-African Media Muggers!”

Many people may not know or be aware of the role of NTA in fighting against media imperialism. But as an insider and a retired Director in the organization, I can say confidently that NTA, has been engaged in a silent fight for global equity, against global imperialism and redefining African cultural identity until OBJ’S imposed Satanic doctrine of Privitazation and Commercialization arrangements for which obvious reasons and evidences we are witnessing the current prevailing consequences of institutionalized assaults by the locally mentored stooges and youth group who have been permanently brainwashed against our national cultural interest and spiritual values.

A case in point was when I was privileged and proud to be contacted very much late in the night by the late Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma of blessed memory, excitedly urging me to switch my television set, to a BBC off-air satellite streaming of live debates from the venue of the Food Security Global Summit in Rome, which featured our own Dr. Iredia, my mentor and the former indefatigable NTA Director General, now a Professor, who was courageously and professionally debunking their unrepentantly racial innuendos against the Black Africans. He had literarily and intellectually held the BBC Current Affairs Anchor of their so called favorite Hard Talks Program Hostage, for which obvious glory the late Alhaji Aliyu Akwe of blessed memory called me, as he kept soluloquyingly praising and saying in shocked disbelief “that your Tonnie Iredia is a good African Ambassador of Global Media Integrity”!

It is so philosophically sad and shameless to watch some TV apologists and pro-colonial creeps, undermining Nigeria’s national unity and core values, as a result of OBJ-Atikoolated Dollar grabbing plutocratic offshore monetized agenda, aka Commercialization and Privitazation, which had elevated underperforming nonentities to Global Economic Salesmen in the underperforming global market of anti-African Media Muggers!

Well, for those who were ignorant about the underground battles Dr. Tonnie wedged to liberate NTA from the relentless consequences of OBJ-ATIKOOLATED offshore deals, to make NTA an appendage of the BBC World Service Trust, when the BBC Team under the guise of promoting Elections coverage in Nigeria, arrived Nigeria to take over and formalize the deal according to their thievish political orientations under the oratorically- laquacious Niger State empty-barrel – cum- noisy Minister of information and Infamously National Disorientation Agency. But while the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN leadership conceded to the deal, according to their terms and conditions, the NTA DG, Dr Tonnie Iredia and an incurably stubborn ideological combat heir to the Great Wizard of the ancient Benin Kingdom, Oba Overenmeh of blessed memory, swore under his dead body to give in.

That is why I have no regrets about my seeming adorations and addicted support for Dr Iredia, who though a confession Catholic Church mass attending devotee, had been philosophically fair minded to all persons, especially those of us Muslims like me, my late friend and media guru, the late Yusuf Jibo of NTA2, Channel 5 Fame, Garba Mamu and Yakubu Ibn Muhammad, whose famous Current Affairs Program,” Towards A New Nigeria” was a sensational nightingales on global issues, that attracted many political superstars nationwide, as well as Iconic University dons of global fame.

I cannot forget even my unbendable anti corruption legend and Adegbo Alago brother Abdullahi Attah Odeh Doma as well as Malam Umar Musa Yashi, Director in-charge of Humanitarian Care Delivery Services of the North-East Development Commission, NEDC, whose records of unquestionable commitments to truthfulness and fairness is at some excellent level with Dr. Iredia’s range of point blank uncompromisable standards.

Of course, I cannot end this testimony without paying tribute to my youngest proteges, like the workholic workhorses like Awwalu Salihu, Danjuma Abdullahi, Lawal Ahmed Funtua, Anthony Furson, Ibrahim Isma’ila Ahmed, Abdulrahman Ibn Mohammed, Saidu Ismaila Ahmed.

To my mindset, these are the categories of people Nigeria needs not some pretentious hypocrites of holier than thou self-righteously masquerading abstract characters, without conscience!
