Nasarawa’s “Kokona Power-sharing formula” as an excellent model for democratic plurality in Africa – Mallam Abdulkarim Muhammad Abdullahi

If Democracy is metaphorically defined globally, as ” A Government of the people by the people for the people ” then, the the Gurku Accord Arrangements, otherwise tagged “Kokona Power-sharing formula”

Founding Fathers of the Kokona inclusive Governance System, otherwise tagged “THE GURKU ACCORD ” have elevated it beyond an ordinary academic cliche, into very good idea for inclusive governance system in a multi-ethnic and educationally underdeveloped peasant society which the founding fathers of the community deserves to be officially recognized and registered for their inspirational guidance in transforming African Socialist philosophical matrix of transformational corpus for equity, fairness principles, predicted on ethical prudence that makes governance accessible to every patriotic social units and organized groups in the society.

Perhaps, we can get together our University Dons from Nasarawa State University, NSUK Keffi; as well as the Federal University Lafia and the Phoenix University, Agwada, to initiate a formal academic colloquium on the relative importance of the GURKU ACCORD in promoting African cultural worldviews and how to get it fused and assimilated into the intellectual lexicon of global standards of universal charter of academic pedagogy.

I hope that the next APC Power-sharing formula which should favor Agwada Development Area Axis, especially the Agaba Afo Clan, whose records of unquestionable commitments to human rights and anti-colonial agitations, vis-a-vis feudalist subjugation in Kokona Local Government Area is favoured.

A historically impressive and unprecedented fighter of human dignity, I believe with all due respect, that history favours the Agaba community which deserves to be worthy beneficiaries of what their forefathers had tirelessly laboured and sacrificed their financial resources and lives to bail out the poor in the past, more than any other groups, in the struggles for emancipation, liberation and freedom.

The Agaba Afo-clan of Awada Development Area have carved a niche over others, in the struggles for emancipation, liberation and proclamation of freedom from the pre-colonial siege mentality-oppressed underdogs in the North and they deserve their own moment of glory and unstoppable victory.
