It will be recalled that the Bauchi State Chapter of the APC had last month cautioned the governor to practice what he preached and face governance squarely for the benefit of the state rather than playing politics to cover his inefficiency as a governor.
PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | AUGUST 10, 2024
The Bauchi State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has again lambasted Governor Bala Mohammed for criticizing the policies of the federal government, which in his words has “inflicted hardship on Nigerians”
In a press statement issued and signed by the State APC Publicity Committee Chairman, Malam Saadu Umar and made available to newsmen in Bauchi, the party stated refuted the allegation as cheap and tendentious explaining that since the APC government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came into inception, the economy of the nation including Bauchi State which resources he, (governor Bala Muhammed) is wasting on frivolities, has been transformed positively through the execution of laudable projects in the state by federal agencies like the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and direct federal assistance in times of emergency.
It will be recalled that the Bauchi State Chapter of the APC had last month cautioned the governor to practice what he preached and face governance squarely for the benefit of the state rather than playing politics to cover his inefficiency as a governor.
In a related instance, the Arewa Young Leaders Forum (AYLF) has warned the governor to stop unwarranted attacks on the president.
According to report published by Leadership newspaper and signed by AYLF President Alhaji Ibrahim Maikifi and General Secretary Dr. Anthony Apochi, the group expressed deep disappointment with Governor Mohammed’s recent suggestion that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) might invite President Tinubu to serve as their campaign director in the 2027 elections.
AYLF condemned Governor Mohammed’s persistent criticisms of President Tinubu’s policies, labeling them as baseless and unsubstantial. The forum suggested that the governor’s actions are politically motivated and aimed at inciting unrest in the country. They also accused him of possibly backing ongoing protests against the President, using his influence and resources to fuel the unrest, a move they see as an attempt to cause chaos.
The forum praised President Tinubu’s reforms, particularly in the agriculture, water resources, and aviation sectors, noting that these efforts are yielding positive results, such as increased food production, reduced hunger, and improved safety for both citizens and foreigners.
AYLF believes Governor Mohammed’s criticisms are a distraction from his own failures in governance, particularly his inability to provide basic amenities to the people of Bauchi State. They described his actions as an attempt to shift focus from his shortcomings to the federal government, which they find unacceptable.
The forum demanded that Governor Mohammed retract his statements and apologize to President Tinubu and the APC administration. They warned that if the governor fails to do so, he will face resistance from concerned Nigerians.
The AYLF leadership emphasized their support for President Tinubu and the federal government, vowing not to allow Governor Mohammed’s actions to destabilize the country.
