Recalling why the protest has been called off, Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel told the media that the ELFON intelligence unit has confirmed that some individuals abroad have “recruited and infiltrated the planned national protest by sponsoring some non-state actors to loot warehouses, shops, homes and to attack government institutions and infrastructures which we as emerging leaders of our dear country Nigeria will not tolerate in any guise”

PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | JULY 29, 2024
A group known as Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria, ELFON, led by Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel has identified Omoyele Sowore, the ADC presidential aspirant and Rhodes Vivour Gbadebor, the failed governorship candidate of the Labour party in 2023 Lagos governorship election as key planners of the proposed #EndBadGovernment Protests in Nigeria.
The group, during a parley with the media and while officially calling off the protests said that the coalition of various youth groups chiefly engaged to mobilize for the #EndBadGovernance Protest slated for 1st to 10th August 2024 have progressively unveiled plans for a National Emerging Leaders Peace, Dialogue and Prigress Confab in Abuja in place of their planned National Protest.
The heads of key Protest planning groups were assembled by the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria, ELFON, led by Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel.
Speaking during the Press conference on Sunday on behalf of the prominent key protest planners, Godstime noted that all the major key stakeholders for the planned national protest are here in the hall except Rhodes Vivour Gbadebo who has not been reachable lately and Comrade Omoleye Sowore who is still abroad.
He further said that the reason for the call for a 3-day National Peace, Dialogue and Progress Confab with the theme “NIGERIA FIRST: IT’S TIME TO GET IT RIGHT” slated for 31st July to 2nd August 2024 is to have select 109 senatorial zone youth representatives inter-face with 15 national leaders and patriots in order to come up with lofty, possible and sustainable measures to be presented to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to aide him in coming up with policies that will redeem Nigerians from Hardship and the current economic quagmire.
Also speaking at the gathering, the National Speaker of Youths’ Assembly of Nigeria, YAN, Shuaibu Sani said that the 774 local government area speakers of YAN have consensually resolved to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu the needed time to make Nigerians and Nigeria better.
Shuaibu said that the planned national protest had to be called off to put a stop to perceived dangers that enemies of our Nation have planned to hatch while hiding under the Hunger Protest. Pegasus Reporter had earlier published a report in which the Department of State Security revealed that there were plots by some element to overthrow the present Nigerian democratic set-up.
Also in attendance at the Sunday meeting were leaders and representatives of the following youths’ bodies: Youth Federation of Nigeria, Arewa Youth Federation, O’dua Youth Assembly, Igbozurume Youth Council, Niger Delta Youth Council, North Central Youth Council, Arewa Youth Alliance for Progress and Development, Nigerian Students Parliament, FCT Youth Council, Anioma Youth Assembly Worldwide.
Meanwhile, a would-be arsonist who identifies himself as Sulaiman Yaku has been arrested by Nigeria’s security agency in Jos Plateau state for calling out men to attack, burn and, loot both public and private infrastructure and properties during the protest.
