PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | JULY 29, 2024
Mrs. Agness Ifada Okokhere’s life is a testament to the power of determination and hard work. Despite the early loss of her dearly beloved husband, mother and one of her children all within the same month, she single-handedly raised eight brilliant minds to achieve optimum education, some to PhD levels, with two becoming distinguished professors.
The trauma of the loss of her dearly beloved ones within a month did not start at that moment as she had earlier suffered loss of one of her twin daughters in a mysterious way. Tragedy also struck earlier when all her expensive industrial equipment and materials perished in another ghastly accident en route destination. All these did not stop her from matching on despite monumental setbacks, pains and heartbreak.
Her unwavering dedication, industry, and love have inspired generations. She has shown and demonstrated to the world that with faith and perseverance, we can overcome even the most daunting challenges as individuals, groups and nations.
Celebrating her remarkable journey, her unshakeable spirit and the enduring legacy she has built, it’s only appropriate to garland her virtuous womanhood as she cherished her milestone birthday filled with love, laughter and durable memories.

*Mrs Ifada Okokhere
She was married to Mr. Barthlomew Eigberemonlen Okosodo Okokhere (Late) and blessed with children. At a young age she lost her husband and was saddled with the responsibility of raising her children alone with occasional help from very few good individuals. Notwithstanding, she credits God for her ability to successfully raise her children. This occurrence shapened her into a stronger woman. She ventured into so many businesses so as to be able to cater for herself, her children and others who were privileged to come her way. Care for orphans and widows have always been and are still very much part of her main priorities. She accommodated many stranded people in the tough City of Lagos-Nigeria despite the fact that she didn’t even know them. All that was required for them to stay was a commitment from them to be law abiding and to be of good behavior. All of these and more she did with dignity, love, enthusiasm and the fear of God.
She pushes others to aim higher and reach their maximum potential. Education, uprightness, moral virtues, fortitude, sense of community, respect for self and others and kindness are sacrosanct to her. Today, she is a successful entrepreneur, mother and grandmother who continue to push boundaries, explore new horns and inspire others through her lifestyle. At 80, she looks back on life with gratitude to God Almighty as she shared her testimony of the values life taught her and the essence of living life to the fullest and also to the glory of God. She is proud of the woman she is and the greatness that was brought forth through her. She often thanks God that her children have imbibed her virtues. All these experiences keep her excited about the life chapters she has been through and the beautiful chapters yet to come.
Her 80th birthday was celebrated by her children Prof. Peter. O. Okokhere; Engr. Paul. A. Okokhere, Prof. Felix. O. Okokhere, Mr. Thomas. A. Okokhere, Mrs. Eunice. O. Oseke, Mr. Benedict Okokhere, Mrs. Linda. O. Ijoma, and Mrs. Joy. E. Samuel.
