“He alleged that the protest called by a self acclaimed Journalist by name, Pidam Nigeria, smacks of external influence and sponsorship intended to bring down the Government of President Bola Tinubu by enemies of the country and should be discarded by all well meaning individuals and organisations”
PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | JULY 5, 2024
The Arewa Youth Groups have rejected the call to join in the proposed nationwide protest against activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), scheduled to take place on July 5 2024.
In a statement in Abuja, the founder and National Patron of the Northern Youths Assembly of Nigeria, NYAN, which is the largest amalgamation of Arewa Youth Groups in Nigeria, Mallam Abdulkarim Muhammad Abdullahi, disassociated the North from being part of the dubious plots to destabilise the country in the name of nationwide protest.
According to him, the protest lacks any merit and is nothing but a covert move to undermine the actions and activities of the Nigerian hardworking and rapid results oriented leadership of Olu Olukorede, the head of EFCC.
He alleged that the protest called by a self acclaimed Journalist by name, Pidam Nigeria, smacks of external influence and sponsorship intended to bring down the Government of President Bola Tinubu by enemies of the country and should be discarded by all well meaning individuals and organisations.
