“Such scientific wizardry should find a befitting “coven” for our teeming youths at NASENI rather than allowing them to surf the internet daily expending their natural gifts and talents in unproductive personal enterprises that do not bring honours to the country.”
PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | MARCH 27, 2023
I am doing this open Letter of Appeal to the President-Elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and the Vice-President-elect, distinguished Senator Kashim Shettima; as well as The National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Turakin Keffin Yamusa and APC National Working Committee, to consider this letter from a humble and concerned citizen as a passionate “Matters of Great as well as Grave National Importance”
It is trite to begin to restate the importance of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructures in the Idu industrial centre of the Federal Capital Territory as one of the industrial development bases of our great country if the complex is properly handled and managed as an incubating and fertilizing hub for the much needed industrial “spare-parts the country needs as we begin a new administration in a few weeks time.
It is in this wise that the Nigerian government is hereby requested to kindly sustain the organic stability and longevity of this budding industrial creativity and emerging scientific research and incubation laboratory training center, for the sake of our country’s quest for industrial training and development, by upgrading NASENI to a self-dependent and fund revolving government exclusive agency, without Government bureaucratic hindrances, or official red-tapism.
I should humbly ask the President-elect to confirm the great technological innovations and breakthroughs by the current leadership of this unique Center of Excellence and National Self Reliance in Nigeria’s capacity development foundation and scientific research and fabrication potentials, which challenging possibilities are endless and capable of making the historically elusive vision and mission of our country a reality. Suffice it to restate here that our outgoing President has already made the centre a proud national incubation laboratory for our future global influence, equality, and ownership in scientific achievements. This laudable achievement by His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari needs that vigorous filip that will transform it into our Silicon valley. From extant daily reports from Nigeria and abroad, we have the national expertise both formal and informal as displayed by our youths to turn this centre into a budding research pride.
I recalled excitedly that my path crossed this scientific Whizkid over 20 years, through a third-party NTA Jos Engineering staff, Wesley Lucas from Mangu, who volunteered to get an honest maintenance engineer to fix our unreliably imported electric generator; LARCAN model which was an awesome nightmare, to virtually all NTA Staff, including my humble self, who was almost on the verge of being declared a virtual victim of “LARCANISED PARANOIA”, until Professor Muhammadu Sani Haruna came to my rescue and restored my Larcan back to operational status, thereby also safeguarding my health back to normal. Currently trending online is the scientific wizardry of a young Nigerian lawyer turned engineer Bilesanmi who won the One-to-Watch Award at the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation for the creation of a ventilator he named “ShiVent”, a low-cost, non-electric device ventilator that is efficient in its use of oxygen. Such scientific wizardry should find a befitting “coven” for our teeming youths at NASENI rather than allowing them to surf the internet daily expending their natural gifts and talents in unproductive personal enterprises that do not bring honours to the country.
I am also thrilled to announce that, many of the negative innuendos by the agents of Western corrupt PDP ATIKULOOTERS’ will feel nationally and internationally disgraced, when our noble President heeds this call and unveils Nigeia’s best-kept secret from a revamp NASENI!
I hope this letter will be granted full approval and the required official endorsements and full immunity.
