In line with our motto, “Omode Gbon, Agba Gbon, …” we are now stepping into the week of Gubernatorial and State Assembly’s Elections with a Campaign Slogan for greater mobilization titled, TI OJU KO BA TI EYIN IGBETI, OJU KO LE TI EKO ILE, to ensure that the INEC certified results of these remaining elections in the Region give the Opposition Parties, a red card, latest by 1 pm on Saturday, 18th March 2023, by God’s grace.
Therefore, our mobilization efforts, which are always in silent mode, have now taken a new dimension.
As progressive youths, we have the numerical strength and that is exactly what we are going to invoke in the field of the election next Saturday. Yoruba Youths would come out in larger numbers this coming Saturday to register our sharp displeasure over the Presidential election results in both Lagos and Osun States, the outcome of which we are still studying, gathering evidence carefully in serious preparation for the appropriate actions to be taken soon. All Progressives Congress (APC) won all the 3 Senatorial seats and 20 out of 24 House of Representatives seats in Lagos State but the reverse is the case in Osun State.
While old People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presented 3 Presidential Candidates under 3 different parties, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of New PDP, former Governor Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) and Senator Rabiu Kwakwaso of New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), APC went to the field of contest with its arsenal intact coupled with protest votes from G – 5 Governors against the enemies of democracy and rotational presidency.
We must at this point commend the mobilization efforts of our former Governors, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, at ensuring that their Boss and All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emerges victorious before the February 25 Presidential election. These selfless efforts are now being doubled toward next Saturday election. With this unity of purpose within the Progressive Camp, the victory of silent Majority is on the way again. “Experience over Experiment”.
We condole with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State as well as the families of those who lost their lives in a terrible accident of long Bus, BRT, collision with a moving Train at PWD, Ikeja, in which 6 People lost their lives and 32 others sustained several injuries last week Thursday, 9th March, 2023, but they are now discharged from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). We are therefore in full support of the ongoing investigation at unraveling the mystery behind this unfortunate but avoidable incident, so as to forestall future occurrences.
We mourn the death of the Veteran Actor, Ojo Arowosafe, a.k.a. Fadeyi Oloro, who passed on last week Tuesday, 7th March 2023, at age of 66. May God Almighty give his family, friends, and associates fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant his soul sweet repose, Amen.
