PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | AUGUST 16, 2022
The recent signing of the Anti-Grazing Bill into an Act by the Edo state government has reeved up communities’ awareness and vigilance to the menace of banditry and kidnapping that have bedevilled Edo north in the past months.

In a press statement issued on the August 15th, 2022 by the Dr Kingsley Ekundayo, Chairman, Okpameri Descendants Union (ODU) and directed to traditional rulers in the domain, the government has “ordered the removal of all illegal camps from Edo State forests including Okpameri land that kidnappers and bandits are using as hideouts with immediate effect”

It will be recalled that herders have been implicated in the spate of killing, torture, maiming and rapping of women in that part of Edo state in recent months.
