The arrangement has now reached an advance stage as Bola Ige Centre for Justice is organising the 20th year Bola Ige memorial Symposium which includes Annual memorial Lecture and Cultural Performances.
This indication was given in Lagos in a press statement date November 18 and signed by the Chairman, Organising Committee, Comrade AWA Bamiji.
The Symposium, “2 Decades of Injustice: What are the implications on Nigerian Democracy?” will be delivered by the Lieutenants of the Late Cicero of Esa – Oke, namely, a Legal Luminary, Chief Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, and Dr Olu Agunloye, former Minister for Power and Steel Development, on Tuesday, 21 December, 2021, at Banquet Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, by 11am, under the able Chairmanship of Gen Buba Marwa (North), Co – Chairman is Chief Akin Olujinmi, SAN, (South). The Chief Host is Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State.
According to information gathered by Pegasus reporters, the Special Guest of Honour will be President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, while the Guests of Honour are Senator Ahmed Lawan, Senate President; Rt. (Hon) Femi Gbajabiamila, the Hon. Speaker, Federal House of Representatives; Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Executive Governor of Osun State and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the immediate past Governor of Osun State and the Hon. Minister of Interior
The Keynote address will be delivered by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
Chief Michael Koleoso and Hon (Justice) Badejoko Adeniji (Rtd), former Secretary to Oyo State Government and the immediate past Chief Judge of Oyo State are father and mother of the day respectively.
The Principal Hosts are Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader, All Progressives’ Congress and Rt. (Hon) Mudashiru Obasa, the Hon. Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly while the Hosts are Architect Muyiwa Ige and Mrs Funso Adegbola (Nee Ige)
The event will kick off with talks on how to tackle drug abuse in the country as the menace is root of every crime in our Society. The advocacy against drug abuse will be hosted by by the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths in conjunction with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
These events are billed as an end to the 3-months triple celebration of Yoruba National Day, Yoruba Youths @ 20 and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @ 69. During the events, some Prominent Nigerians including the Guest Speaker, Dr Olu Agunloye, will be bestowed Odu’a Ori Olokun Awards same day by the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths.
