PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | NOVEMBER 10, 2021

My Sermon of the Week, is a short and brief allegorical montage on Nigerian political elites titled “Empty Bigots and Hypocrites”.

It’s meant to send a message to some governors like Ortom of Benue State and several others whose largest investments in democracy is to trivialized the mission and objective of democratic governance. The do this by instigating serially-orchestrated crises as a cover for their veiled incompetencies, inability to know and remember that “there was a yesterday of solid love and compassionately gregarious community of mutually integrated values before their today of hateful vendetta”.

The thematic parable was deliberately conceived to showcase some flashbacks of my testimonies and complimentary tributes on interfaces as well as expressive integrity-interwoven interfaith encounters with emotionally expressive mutual comraderie of our heroes past in Nigeria especially in the now fracturedly “Ortomised” and politically instigated, crises-bedeviling and instability orchestrated Northern Nigeria, where I grew up in the Mid- 60s as a witness to history!

Yes, fellow Nigerian Compatriots, it is not only a peculiar Nigerian disease, to find such vocal exchange of vengeful tirades and animosities in such a period of tragic matrices of post colonial era of hateful madness, of toxic volatility like we are confronted with in Nigeria today, especially in the now geographically institutionalized, fury-motivated and malignantly abrasive power-block divisively charged and parochially serrated Northern Nigeria.

A zone populated by a new generations of ambitiously adventurous political opportunists and ethno-religiously inclined fanatical hypocrites, now trying to impose their intemperately provocative language of hateful vendetta and animosities, against each other in the society, as if, “there was no yesterday before today, in their scheming trademarks of linguistic cocktails of violent insinuations and suffocative agitations”!

It is on this bases of these tribal vituperation and ethno-religiously instigated avalanche of satanic crises bedeviling Nigeria, that I feel obliged, to showcase some montage of remarkably exemplary human bonds as captured below:

1: In Northern Nigeria of my youth, in the Mid- 60’s, we had lived a life of spiritually-unified and serene humanity, where mutual friendships and sense of collective esprit-de-corp prevailed and our collective Motto was,” what God has joined together let no one put asunder”!

We grew up and mingled freely in the midst of diverse multitudes, fully aware of our religious vows that “love conquers all prejudices” which is at variance with Governor Ortoms’ incurably inclined moral profanities and collaterally subjective irredentism?

Well, lest I make this prologue too obviously lengthy for my readers comfort and too tiring to digest,in order to unravel the Nigerian Politicians’ Satanic Agenda, I will rather have to stop here, until I find the most auspicious time to segmentalize another critical presentation of how people like the late Ambassador Alhaji Muhammad Suleiman, Dan Iyan Keffi my uncle and first Headmaster of my Primary School, Alma Mater, Moloney Primary School which was lately renamed Ahmadu Maikwato Primary School in Keffi, Alhaji Muhammad Chindo Yamusa the 1st, the late Emir of Keffi and his successor as Headmaster; and the late Walin Keffi, Alhaji Abdu Abubakar, alias Keffi 1, the Patriach of the Imani Group of Companies encouragingly gave succor to several young people of diverse ethnic multitudes and religious beliefs, “to get patronizingly educated without tears in the old Keffi Division of the defunct Benue Province”, in order to demystify Governor Ortom’s ethno-religious bias and malicious profilings against Muslims and Islam!
