“I am not the type of governors that deny their actions. I know I have hand in his removal and I’m not afraid to say it. I did that because if we allow him to continue as PDP chairman, the party will die.”

PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | OCTOBER 4, 2021
Tough-talking Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike disclosed that he was personally involved in the conspiracy that unseated the embattled former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus.
In an interview with BBC pidgin, Governor Wike recalled that his move to ensure the removal of Secondus followed his inability to address the crisis that threatened the party.
According to Wike, “I have never denied of being involved in the removal of Secondus; he was not doing well so his ward first suspended him and I am glad they did that.
“I am not the type of governors that deny their actions. I know I have hand in his removal and I’m not afraid to say it. I did that because if we allow him to continue as PDP chairman, the party will die.”
Recall that an internal crisis recently rocked the opposition PDP, leading to stakeholders calling for the sack Secondus as chairman of the party.
The decision eventually led to the recently concluded National Convention of the Party which saw the emergence of former Senate President, Dr Iyorchia Ayu as the new National Chairman of PDP.
